Course Overview

The "Mental Health First Aid Standard Course" is taught by a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor recognized by The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong. The course aims to enhance public mental health awareness and equip participants with practical skills (A.L.G.E.E.) to provide initial support and appropriate intervention when individuals around them experience emotional distress or mental health crises, enabling them to become "Mental Health First Aiders" in the community. Upon completing the course, participants will be awarded a certificate for the "Mental Health First Aid Standard Course" jointly issued by The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong and our organization.

Certification

Participants must achieve a 100% attendance rate to be awarded the "Mental Health First Aid Standard Course Certificate" jointly issued by The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong and our organization.

The certificate is valid for three years from the date of issuance.

  • Identifying Mental Health Issues: Learn to recognize conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and severe psychosis.

  • Intervention Steps (A.L.G.E.E.): Master the practical workflow of assessing, listening non-judgmentally, giving support, encouraging professional help, and connecting resources.

  • Practical Skills and Principles: Learn safe intervention, building trust, and providing immediate support during emotional crises (e.g., assisting individuals with suicidal ideation).

  • Community Resource Connections: Understand available referral pathways and community support services.

  • Scenario Practice: Reinforce practical application through case studies and role-playing exercises.

Course Fee

HK$600 / person

Fee includes: One copy of the "Mental Health First Aid Manual (Standard Edition)" (Distributed during the final class).

Important Notice: Participants who fail the assessment or do not complete the course will not be issued the manual or certificate.
